We are delighted to celebrate the graduation of 21 refugee women who have successfully completed our Big Sisters Program.
Our Big Sister Circle (with Farsi, Spanish and Arabic speakers) provides 6 months of one-to-one mentorship and practical help. The program includes ESL classes, cultural information and emotional support, fun activities, grocery giftcards and home transformation. The refugee women have developed connections and networks to help them, and their families, feel settled and able to navigate their new situation.
Families, friends and Amaanah supporters gathered at the event to celebrate the achievements. Each graduate received their certificate and gifts from our sponsor Chammeli.
Presentations were made by Maria De Grazia, Amaanah’s Big Sisters Program Manager: “I feel immensely proud of each of you, for your courage and commitment.
