Refugees from Gaza: Board Statement

At Amaanah Refugee Services, we are deeply committed to our mission of providing support and assistance to refugees from all over the world.

We empathize deeply with the refugees fleeing conflict in Gaza, recognizing the unimaginable hardships they have endured. Our dedicated support is aimed at assisting them in the journey towards rebuilding their lives.

Once refugees arrive in Houston, we take on the responsibility of ensuring their future safety and prosperity. We understand that each refugee has different needs and experiences, and we tailor our services accordingly. We take a comprehensive approach, including resettlement support, access to essential services, educational opportunities, and psychosocial counseling. Our goal is to provide a sense of comfort and security to those who have been forced to flee their homes.

In addition to our direct assistance programs, we also advocate for policies and measures that uphold the rights and dignity of refugees. We believe that everyone deserves access to asylum, protection from discrimination, and pathways to integration and citizenship. We work closely with our partners to amplify the voices of refugees and ensure that their concerns are heard and addressed.

Amaanah’s commitment to supporting refugees not only from Gaza, but from all over the world is unwavering, but we cannot do it alone. We rely on the kindness and generosity of individuals, communities, and governments to provide the resources and support needed to assist those in need.
