Killing of World Central Kitchen aid workers

Amaanah’s entire team is devastated to learn of the killings of Saifeddin Issam Ayad Abutaha, Lalzawmi Frankcom, Damial Sobol, Jacob Flickinger, John Chapman, Jim Henderson and James Kirby.

These seven World Central Kitchen aid workers were killed in an airstrike by the IDF as they returned from a day’s work bringing critical support to the people of Gaza. To the non-profit community, and everyone who has chosen to devote their lives to building a better world, their loss is incalculable.

We reaffirm our commitment to the equal value of every human life, and to the immediate need for a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, and the free flow of critical food and medical supplies to the victims of this conflict.

We send our love and gratitude to the workers’ families and to those still serving World Central Kitchen all over the world.

Their losses will be added to over 30,000 equally important, equally tragic deaths since the conflict began.

  • “These are the heroes of World Central Kitchen. These 7 beautiful souls were killed by the IDF in a strike as they were returning from a full day's mission. Their smiles, laughter, and voices are forever embedded in our memories. And we have countless memories of them giving their best selves to the world. We are reeling from our loss. The world's loss.” Erin Gore, CEO - World Central Kitchen
